Lebanon [lɛbənɒn]; Arabic: لبنان; French: Liban, officially known as the Lebanese Republic; French: République Lebanaise. Lebanon is considered a sovereign state in Western Asia.
The Lebanese flag according to The CIA World Fact Book (2017) "The red bands symbolize blood shed for liberation, the white band denotes peace, the snow of the mountains, and purity; the green cedar tree is the symbol of Lebanon and represents eternity, steadiness, happiness, and prosperity (p 492)."
